On July 24th, 2019, Station 75 units responded for a cardiac arrest for Mrs. Hill in a parking lot. The crews were fortunate to have the ability to work efficiently and effectively on the scene and during the transport to save this wonderful woman’s life. With the assistance of our partners, nurses and doctors, this lady has made a full recovery!

Due to the 1-year anniversary of the event occurring this coming weekend, the family stopped by Station 75 to meet the entire crew that was there that night! In attendance was also, Dr. Robbie Paulsen from UC Physicians. Dr. Paulsen was the attending physician during the transfer from the field to the ED and was instrumental in the continuation of emergent care.

The crew would like to thank the Hill family for stopping by and allowing all of us to embark on the continued journey of success for years to come!!

Local 3518 would like to thank Taglio Pizza for providing lunch to all 5 of our firehouses today! It was absolutely delicious!

L3518 was grateful to assist one of our well-involved community partners in supporting the amazing ED staff at West Chester Hospital. To ensure that the staff from Texas Roadhouse - West Chester, OH didn’t have to come to the hospital and could stay safe, we were able to pick up and drop off the 45 individual meals that they prepared and cooked for the ED staff tonight.

This is just another example showing that when we work together, we can get through this together!! Support your local restaurants and businesses, as they have shown that they are always willing to support the community. Thank you for letting us help!!

We are sorry to hear of the sudden loss of Florence Fire Department Lieutenant Phil Bender. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and coworkers during this difficult time. Another fire service brother is gone too soon.

On August 2nd, L3518 held our annual blood drive and touch a truck event in connection with UC Health - Air Care and Mobile Care. We had great blood donations and attendance at this event, allowing countless lives to be saved since!

In connection with another wonderful community partner, City Barbeque, we stepped it up a notch this year and also had another fundraiser going on at the same event for the MDA Cincinnati. Today, we were able to, collectively, present a check for $1000 to MDA Cincinnati that had been raised from all of the efforts and donations!!

If you were or were not able to make it for this year’s event, please come out and help us continue these efforts at next years event. You too, can make the difference!!

Join us on Wednesday, September 25, for our Rib Fest + Pink Ribbon Engine Appearance!

The West Chester FOP and IAFF will face off in a Rib Eating contest at 6pm. Members of the WCPD and WCFD will be seating guests, getting Fresh-Baked Bread, and line dancing. We will also have Pink Ribbon Girls there with their Pink Engine, selling t-shits for donations, and a split the pot! This event is a "Kick Off" for October, Breast Cancer Awareness month. Texas Roadhouse has a partnership with the Pink Ribbon Girls and will be supporting them the whole month of October. Pink Ribbon Girls provides meals, housecleaning, transportation to treatment, and peer support to individuals in the Cincinnati region with breast and women's gynecological cancers.

Trauma season is upon us. Come out and help save a life with your blood donation!!

WCFD units on the scene of an over turned truck with HazMat. Lesourdsville West Chester Road is currently closed between Beckett Road and Cherry Lane Farms.

A couple of our younger citizens got the chance to see our tower truck and the crew today at Kroger! Our crews can usually be seen at the grocery in the mornings because of our unique hours. Since firefighters work 24 hours a day, crews will take up a collection of their money and go to the store to buy food to cook for the entire shift, all while remaining available to respond in a moments notice to ANY emergency! Thanks for stopping by ladies!

Tonight at WCFD Station 75, on behalf of Local 3518, FOP Lodge 186, the WCFD and WCPD, we were able to present the Stratman Family with a check for $4,537 all raised recently via a dunking booth. We thank all who were involved in the fundraising efforts, and thank you to those people who stopped by the booth and donated!

We wish the family the best, and hope everyone continues to remain #StratmanStrong

Truck fire on Provident Dr.

Today was a bittersweet day for Local 3518… Tonight we welcomed Russ Cheeseman and Eric Johansing as the newest career members of the WCFD. We are grateful to have them onboard and look forward to a long career with these two former part time members.

This morning Brother Tim Burns was given a final farewell from his family, friends, and his brother and sister firefighters from throughout the Greater Cincinnati area and beyond. We over overwhelmed by the amazing amount of support given to us by our surrounding departments who have allowed for our members to celebrate Tim’s life and grieve his loss.

A special thank you goes out to the Colerain Twp. Career Fire Fighters IAFF Local 3915, Cincinnati Fire Fighters Union Local 48 and Hamilton Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 20 brothers who provided assistance and advice along the way and helped us prepare for the service, and to Chief Kevin Hardwick who was instrumental in the processional route.

A huge thank you goes out to Hamilton Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 20, Middletown Firefighters Local 336, Norwood Firefighters Local 1631, Liberty Township Professional Fire Fighters Local 4394, Monroe Firefighters Local 3824, Deerfield Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 4286, Fairfield Professional Firefighters Local 4010, Miami Township Fire/EMS, Mason Professional Firefighters Local 4049, Sharonville Professional Firefighters Local 4498, Fairfield Township Fire Department, Sycamore Township Professional Firefighters Local 3907, Madeira & Indian Hill Joint Fire District, Montgomery Fire Department, Milford Community Fire Department, and Loveland Symmes Fire Department for providing station coverage for us!

The final and largest thank you goes out to all of those departments that helped us celebrate Tim’s life today in the funeral service. The agencies are too many to list, but we appreciate the tremendous amount of support you provided to help us execute an absolutely beautiful service for our brother. We can’t thank you enough!

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Tim’s family and we will continue to stand by your side and ensure Tim’s legacy lives on.

Rest In Peace Brother, we’ll take it from here!

It is with great regret that we announce the Line of Duty Death of Brother Tim Burns. Tim was a dedicated Firefighter, Public Servant, Husband, Father, and union brother. Tim will be deeply missed by all of us at Local 3518 as well as all of those whose lives he has touched. Funeral and Visitation information will be forthcoming. We thank everyone for their support of Tim through his hard-fought battle.

Congratulations and best wishes to FF Steve Schlamb on his retirement from U2 and Engine 74. You will be missed.

An attic fire today on Aster Park Dr that destroyed multiple units. Dispatched at 1437 hrs. Three people transported for smoke inhalation or minor burns. Several mutual aid companies (Liberty Twp, Fairfield, Deerfield Twp, Springdale) assisted.

While some are with their families, we have members continuing to serve the community. Giving thanks for everything we have. From our families to yours, Happy Thanksgiving.

Earlier today a Police Officer was attacked outside of a grocery store in West Chester. The officer is OK and the suspect is in custody. We would like to thank the citizen who stepped up to help the officer and to show our support for our Brothers in blue...
